The Faculty of Education and Psychology is currently offering

- 2-4 positions of Doctoral researcher in the Doctoral programme in Education starting on 2 August 2021 for a maximum period of four years. The positions are open to those who have received their study right in the doctoral programme in autumn 2020 or earlier.

- 1-3 positions of Doctoral researcher in the Doctoral programme in Psychology
starting on 2 August 2021 for a maximum period of four years.The positions are open to those who have received their study right in the programme in autumn 2020 or earlier.

Tasks and qualifications

The main duties of doctoral researchers consist of research for the doctoral thesis and postgraduate education. Minor teaching assistance and other related tasks may also be assigned to them.

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of doctoral researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations, Rectors´s decision on personnel matters and language skills guidelines. A good command of English is required.

A prerequisite for the doctoral researcher position is the study right in the Doctoral school of Faculty of Education and Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä in the Doctoral programme in Education or in the Doctoral programme in Psychology.

Salaries are based on job demands and employees’ performance following the Finnish University Salary System. A holiday bonus is paid to all employees. The total salary for a doctoral student is about 2 200-2 300 € / month, depending on skills and previous experience.

A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled.

- The beginning date of the doctoral studies (month/year)
- Estimated time of completion (month/year)
- Title of the dissertation
- Form of dissertation (monograph or articles)
- The research strength area of the faculty
- Supervisors (Supervisor-in-charge first)
- Member of the follow-up group
- Previous funding, including the funding period and source
- Pending applications of research funding

2. Curriculum vitae (CV), composed according to good scientific practice according to the guidelines for researcher´s curriculum vitae by The Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity. See: http://www.tenk.fi/en

3. List of publications (including poster and paper presentations at scientific conferences). The list of publications should be composed according to the guidelines of the Academy of Finland.

4. Research plan (max 5 pages + references) conforms to the research plan of study application phase, but special emphasis on the following:
- progress of the doctoral studies, manuscripts in preparation, manuscripts which have been submitted or published, the phase of data collection and/or analysis.
- work plan for the applied period (including mobility plan and plan of publishing, when relevant)
