We’re looking for Data Product Manager for Managed Databases and Data Services at Nordcloud.

Have you worked extensively with data, databases, big data and supporting customers in maintaining a reliable, hardened and secured database environment? Do you have ideas on how to automate, improve and “productify” such environments in the cloud?

At Nordcloud we aim to provide our customers with fully automated and monitored data foundations, supporting the flow of data all the way from ingest to insight.

Your new role would ask you to design and manage implementation of fully automated, monitored, easy to use self-service and managed service delivery systems, in a multi cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) environment.

You will help create the vision, the planning and ultimately the requirements for these new data innovations. You will also act as the bridge between Advanced Data Solutions and Managed Services at Nordcloud. We are looking for someone with prior experience in overseeing multiple different data foundations, database systems, “Big Data” platforms and somebody who can help us prioritize and create a development roadmap for the future of our various managed services dealing with massive amounts of data on a daily basis.

As a Data Product Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Evolving roadmaps based on customer input
  • Gathering customer feedback for the product
  • Creating sales and product sales enablement
  • Creating service descriptions
  • Consolidating and working on vision with Advanced Data Services and Database Reliability Engineering
  • Preparing a competitive analysis of similar products and services
  • Helping defining new products and services
  • Creating and keeping up to date reporting dashboards
  • Collaborate on the frontline with customer

A perfect candidate has:

  • Experience gained in a similar position: Product Manager, Product Owner with a strong technical background in data and/or information systems and architecture
  • Previous experience gained within medium to large, international companies from the IT sector
  • Experience in database management or data services
  • Ability to work within a distributed organization
  • Knowledge and practical experience in working with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in using public cloud tools
  • Solid experience in at least one of the major public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of typical troubleshooting, governance and maintenance of at least 2 large scale database systems.
  • “Big Data”, ETL/ELT processes, Cloudera, Hadoop, MapReduce, R, Python (Pyspark, Pytorch etc) or matching solutions in any of the public cloud offerings (Synapse, AWS Glue, BigQuery, etc)
  • SQL experience, writing complex queries, data design and data science improves your chances of success
  • "Hold my beer - I got this", "go-getter" attitude
