Description of position
As Supply Chain Planning Manager you are responsible of the end-to-end planning operations of a certain production department, mainly focusing in rough cut production planning and supervising the finite scheduling. You define and maintain an actionable production plan, based on which the internal stakeholders can operate.
In addition, your responsibilities include:
- Coordinating actions in the end-to-end process: planning and ensuring timely and adequate stocks in different parts of the supply chain, aiming to fulfill the defined service level targets while optimizing inventories and minimizing obsolete stocks
- Optimal utilization of manufacturing capacity in close collaboration with the production departments
- Defining and maintaining the planning parametres and other planning-related master data in Orp (R/3 and APO)
- Following production outcomes and actual sales vs. forecasts and coordinating the reacting to deviations
- Coordinating the destruction of obsolete stocks for bulk and finished products in production plants
- Active participation and ownership in adequate cross-functional forums, processes and development projects
Position is fixed term and will last until the end of year 2023. You can work either from Espoo, Turku or Salo but the work requires visits to Espoo site.
Description of unit
Supply Chain Planning -unit is a part of the Supply Chain and Procurement organization within Orion Global Operations. The main responsibility of the unit is to ensure - in close collaboration with internal and external parties - that the customers are served according to their needs and requirements in a timely and cost-efficient manner. The unit consists of 15 experienced professionals working in the centre of Orion's Supply Chain operations
Supply Chain Planning -unit works in close collaboration with several internal functions, such as production, sales and marketing, quality assurance and control, purchasing and sourcing, packaging technology, business units, regulatory affairs, IND PLM, R&D, Fermion and IM. The external collaboration parties consist mainly of Orion B2B customers and packaging material suppliers.

Requirements
In order to succeed in this role you should have proven ability to manage and optimize complex entities and consider multiple factors impacting the planning operations. Ideally you would have previous experience in supply chain planning and working in production environment. Being self-driven and development oriented is required in this role. Other skills to master:
- Excellent skills in IT tools, very good knowledge and former experience in especially SAP/R3 and SAP/APO
- Excellent communication, collaboration and people management skills
- Eager to learn and share your knowledge
- Ability to make decisions in acute and challenging situations
- Fluency in Finnish and English
- M. Sc. degree (or equivalent) in relevant field is a merit
