Product Data Management Engineer

We are now looking for a Product Data Management (PDM) Engineer to join our forward-looking Fuel Gas Supply System (FGSS)team working for a better future. In FGSS we are developing, managing, marketing, selling, and delivering complete systems for LNG, methanol and ammonia fuelled ships. The preferred location for the position is in Vasa, Turku or Helsinki in Finland, but also Gdynia, Poland is a possible location. Partial remote work is possible based on Wärtsilä’s policy.


What you will be doing


In this position, your work will include product data management, development of smarter engineering processes and robotic 
process automation. On a typical day, you might be starting with creating or maintaining the component library and end the day 
with developing a smarter way of doing engineering work which reduces manual work steps. You will not be working on this alone, 
even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support from project and engineering teams.


As PDM Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:


• Assist in developing and maintaining component/product portfolio and workflow processes
• Create and maintain equipment and component data
• Create project specific BOMs (bill of materials) based on engineering input and in cooperation with the project team
• Cooperate with internal teams and functions - both project delivery organizations as well as lifecycle organizations
• Participate in the development of more efficient engineering processes and automating manual work processes
• Participate in the development of future fuel supply systems supporting decarbonisation


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:


• M.Sc. Or B.Sc. in Engineering
• Strong knowledge and experience of Teamcenter
• Knowledge of defining materials/equipment structures
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management
• Knowledge and experience of RPA is seen as a benefit
• Knowledge of Visio, PowerBI, Sharepoint and similar tools is seen as a benefit
• Knowledge of Autodesk products is seen as a benefit
• Good technical understanding and knowledge of engineering tools and system interfaces
• Understanding of engineering and technical documentation
• Technical writing skills
• Good English knowledge - both oral and written
• Ability to work independently as well as part of an international team
• Good cooperation abilities
• Willingness to learn and develop own skills
