We are looking for an experienced sourcing professional with good networking skills and a get things done attitude to manage sourcing activities in a wide range of different categories. At Sandvik, the future is now! This is a full-time position based in Tampere, Finland and reports directly to the Director of Global Product Line and Projects for Automation.

Job Profile

In this role, you will be part of the BU Automation Team and work closely with Automation Supply Chain, R&D and Project teams. You are responsible for the sourcing activities within the automation business unit including managing and overseeing service and product sourcing strategy and processes as well as negotiating contracts and pricing with the suppliers. This position plays a crucial role in operations improvement, cost savings as well as total process efficiency and productivity. Main tasks include:

  • Participate in new product development as well as customer delivery projects, ensure component and supplier selection are done according to the processes and that Trade compliance and Sustainability aspects are fulfilled
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sourcing processes and tools
  • Negotiate purchasing terms and pricing with the suppliers and handle Automation specific supplier agreements
  • Manage business unit’s supplier base and ensure proper capacity and availability against forecast
  • Co-operation and alignment with Sourcing teams from other Divisions within Sandvik
  • Participate in Sandvik Group level Sourcing activities and development work streams
  • Support other supply chain activities when needed

Your profile

We are looking for candidate with key skills such as leadership and authority. You are passionate to lead and to take a proactive approach in “getting things done” while maintaining good team collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • University degree in a relevant field (Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering etc)
  • Several years of experience in sourcing
  • Previous knowledge from electronics is seen as an advantage
  • Experience with quality, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sourcing processes
  • Effective communication skills. In this role you must communicate with people from other areas of the company including top management, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, externals, and sales teams
  • Outstanding negotiation abilities
  • You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment with a strong success focus
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • This job requires fluent Finnish and English language skills
