Wärtsilä Global Logistics Services, Parts Supply is looking for an On-call Trainee to join our team of Customs Data Experts on a part-time basis (max. 25h/week). 
 

This would most suit a student who is seeking to develop in a practical environment. This opportunity is offered on a temporary basis until May 2022, with the preferred location being Vaasa, Finland.

We are especially looking for a candidate interested in customs tariff classification and export control classification so therefore ideal candidate is interested in technical details and having capabilities to learn to read electronical, electric and mechanical specifications.

What will you be doing?

We offer you a global team environment with colleagues and contacts worldwide, a possibility to familiarise yourself with Wärtsilä spare parts and a work that supports global spare parts deliveries!

As an On-call Trainee, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
•    Classifying Wärtsilä’s spare parts based on customs tariff classification (commodity codes)
•    Validating export control classifications
•    Requesting supplier’s declarations from international suppliers and validating given data 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:
•    BSc or MSc student in Mechanical, Electrical or Automation engineering or in Industrial management or similar
•    Keen interest in engine and other Wärtsilä products
•    Analytic and systematic approach to work.
•    Collaborative team player, at ease communicating with colleagues throughout the business and via various means 
•    Be self-motivated and reliable to take responsibility of your actions
•    Fluent in English, both written and verbal 

You will be at an advantage with:
•    Demonstrable knowledge of customs processes 
•    Finnish and/or Swedish language skills
