We are now recruiting for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Voyage Services R&D team in Helsinki. In this position, you will contribute to shaping the Wärtsilä FOS – the leading marine analytics platform in the world that helps our customers to optimize their operations to save money and fuel. About the role:

We are looking for a Senior SW Engineer with an emphasis on the backend side but who can still work on all software stack layers. 
Below is a list of some of the employed technologies currently being used in our team. Note that we don't expect you to be an expert in all of these.

• Java 17

• OAuth 2.0 authentication
• HTTP+JSON APIs using Spring MVC
• Swagger/OpenAPI for API documentation
• JOOQ for database access
• Flyway for database migrations
• PostgreSQL database
• Maven for builds and package management
• GeoTools for map projections
• JUnit, Mockito etc for unit testing and integration testing
• Jenkins for building
• Docker and Kubernetes for deployments, ArgoCD for syncing deployments
• Python for various scripting tasks in build automation, one-off data analyses, data migrations etc.

About you:

The software environment is mainly Linux. The most essential skill requirements are Java, Spring, PostgreSQL and Python.
The Senior SW Engineer should be experienced in release management, continuous delivery, and working according to these principles.
You should also not be a stranger to writing documentation and supporting colleagues when needed. The experience level expected for this position is at least 5 years, but we can also be flexible about this in case you are amazing!
