Research Technician to the Turku Center for Disease Modeling
Turku Center for Disease Modeling (TCDM, www.tcdm.fi) is a research and research service organization at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Turku. TCDM provides state-of-art research facilities and expertise in studies in experimental animals to support both academic and industrial associated preclinical research. TCDM belongs to the Institute of Biomedicine
TCDM is looking for a Research Technician for a fixed term position from 1 November 2021 to 31 December 2024. The starting time is negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
The duties include mainly performing various molecular biology analyses in TCDM projects.
Essential Qualifications
- Suitable degree or educational competence to laboratory work or bioscience (biomedical laboratory science, laboratory engineering, medical laboratory technologist and biomedical laboratory scientist etc.)
- Strong technical knowhow in basic molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis etc)
- Experience in solution and sample preparation
- Microsoft Office skills
- High level of self-initiative, good social skills and activeness
- Good organizational skills and capability to adapt to quickly changing situations/work tasks
- Fluent communication skills in Finnish and in English
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience on cell culture work
Salary
The salary is determined in accordance with the salary system for universities. It is at level 6 on the job demands chart of the other personnel, where the task specific salary component is 2139,29 € per month. In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The personal performance component is 6% - 50% of the task-specific base salary.
There will be a six-month (6) trial period.How to Apply
