At Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy Training Centre in Finland, we are looking for an Instructor / Senior Instructor in UNIC engine control system for Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines.  The possible seniority is to be determined according to the candidates experience level.

The Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy (WLSA) provides high-quality training services for the marine and energy markets globally. We are focusing on Wärtsilä product and solution training both for internal and external customers globally in Marine and Power Plant Industry.

The location for this position is either in Turku or Vaasa, Finland.

Responsibilities:

As a training team member, you will be responsible for practical execution of site and local training activities in our training centre or via Teams for our external and internal customers.

In this position, the main responsibilities are:

  • Practical execution of training in our WLSA training centre and site training
  • Delivery of theoretical training via Teams from training centre or home office
  • Developing new training material, concepts, and equipment in WLSA training centre in Turku
  • Actively taking part into training delivery related day-to-day activities

Requirements: 

We expect you to have a strong professional knowledge and experience in some of the following fields: Wärtsilä 4-stroke engine control system in ship power or power plant installations, with the focus on commissioning and servicing of this system.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • BSc or MSc in mechanical or electrical engineering or Marine Engineer in similar area
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Quality, safety and environmental skills
  • Desire to work in multicultural environment
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Ship and/or power plant or similar industry experience
  • Result- and development-oriented way of working
  • Experience in training delivery is a benefit, however, we will train you on the job
