(Senior) Product Engineer in R&D
    
Job description:

• We are looking for Product Engineer to Technical Product Management, Small & Medium Bore engines.
• We offer you interesting and challenging position in a team of Product Engineers and Technical Experts in the Research& Development (R&D). You will be part of a small group, with good team spirit, of highly skilled and motivated professionals managing challenging technical issues with engines. Product Engineer’s work is very extensive reflecting Wärtsilä strategy, market needs and ongoing RDE development.
• In this position you will have possibility to use and improve your skills in several areas (e.g leadership and technical skills) when co-operating with different people and organisations. As Product engineer you will manage technical support starting from sales and continuing through whole lifecycle of the products. Product Engineer role includes sales support, participation to development projects, safety & engine compliance related technical evaluations and more.
• Depending on the candidates experience the position title will be specifically defined.

Responsibilities:
Manage the assigned tasks / areas for supporting our internal stakeholders in RDE, Product Management and Marine and Energy Business sales.
Develop technical solutions and create plans together with Engines Platform Development and implementation of new features to engines. Take responsibility to secure efficient documentation and sales support for the active portfolio.

Requirements:

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical or similar
• Minimum 3 years of experience with diesel and/or gas engines or some other technical field
• Problems solving and solution finding skills
• Risk management skills
• Good positive drive and ability to work both independently and in teams  
• Good communication and co-operation skills
• Good command of English, both oral and written
• Project Manager experience or designer skills seen as a benefit
• Knowledge of Wärtsilä business seen as benefit
• Finnish language skills seen as benefit
