We are now looking for a Senior Technical Expert to join our team in Technical Service. The preferred locations for the position can be either in Turku or Vaasa- Finland or in Trieste -Italy.

What will you be doing

In this position will be part of a global, innovative, and customer-driven organisation working with cutting-edge technologies. In this position, you will pursuit continuous improvement with the combination of your existing expertise and passion for developing yourself and the ways of working.

As (Senior) Technical Expert, your work will focus on these responsibilities

  • Providing high level engine expert support for internal and external customers
  • Making product improvements and product documentation
  • Performing field testing of new products in the field
  • Making feedback analyses and product reports
  • Conducting site surveys and troubleshooting in the field
  • Following up and solving problems together with other technical departments
  • Being an innovative expert in Wärtsilä’s expert organisation. 

You will shine in this role when you have

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or prior experience of 4-stroke engines, related auxiliary equipment, troubleshooting or performance analyses in the field
  • Motivation and genuine interest to work with 4-stroke engines
  • Good skills in communication, customer orientation and self-management
  • Proactive, systematic, analytical, and organized way of working
  • Flexible attitude, openness to learn, adapting to and developing new technologies
  • Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Readiness to travel
