Description of the position

We are looking for a trainee interested in research of solid state properties of pharmaceutical materials. In this job you will work with quality control related analytics, and tests to verify methods for new equipment. You will get to know various analysis techniques, analyze materials using different methods, collect data and results, and summarize and make conclusions of your observations. The analysis techniques relevant for this job are mainly particle size determination techniques, X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry.

This position is based in Espoo. The work starts preferably in May and continues for at least 3 months. The exact start and duration will be agreed together with the applicant.

Description of the unit

This trainee position is situated in Drug Product Development unit, which belongs to Pharmaceutical Sciences department responsible for CMC development and regulatory documentation for new products. The Drug Product Development unit plans and executes CMC activities for new drug products, such as, oral solid and liquid dosage forms, and dry powder inhalation products. The multidisciplinary unit consists of analytical and formulation scientists, and project managers. The daily activities in this job will be situated in the laboratory of physical analytics, where all of the actual analyses are done. There you will be working alongside experienced research associates and scientists. Together we make sure that the drug products meet the expectations of the patient and high standards of quality.

Requirements

We expect you to have performed at least 1 year worth of applicable university level studies such as chemistry, pharmacy or physics. You are resourceful and curious to learn new. You know your way around laboratory, like to work with different instruments and examine the data and results produced. You get along with people and work in open collaboration with research assistants and scientists. Communicating and documenting your work in English is natural for you. Familiarity with solid state analysis techniques is a benefit.
