The Department of Psychology, in Faculty of Education and Psychology is currently seeking to
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER  starting March 1st 2022 for a term up to 2 years.

Tasks and qualifications

The purpose of post doc funding is to promote the start of an independent research career after a dissertation. The postdoctoral position is intended for person who has a dissertation during the last three years. Post-doctoral researcher is required to have a doctoral degree in the applicable research area. During the funding period, the postdoctoral researcher must apply for external funding for his or her research. Tasks include research and teaching tasks with an emphasis on research tasks and other related tasks.

The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of a Postdoctoral Researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines.  The selected person is expected to have a command of Finnish language. The University may grant exemption from the language proficiency requirements if needed. Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to have excellent skills in the English language.

The evaluation of applicants emphasizes research evidence in the areas of research strength of the Department of Psychology, as well as the feasibility and quality of the research plan and the planned funding application. Experience in obtaining competitive research funding, national or international co-operation networks and good co-operation skills are also considered as asset.

The annual salary range will be approximately 38,800 - 55,700 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. 

 A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled.
