Wärtsilä’s Marine Power Marketing team is responsible for delivering world-class customer experience across the world through our digital and non-digital channels, with the explicit goal of driving customer awareness, engagement and interest and supporting sales by delivering qualified opportunities for sales to drive revenue.

We are looking for a professional Marketing Manager to join the Business Unit Marketing team to manage and drive business unit-related marketing strategies in line with the business strategies.

As a Marketing Manager, you will be marketing our innovative product and solution portfolio, building demand generation marketing campaigns, content and contributing to thought leadership communications with the goal to position us as a leader in marine decarbonisation. You need to be an excellent team player to liaise with key partners, also be highly independent in conducting your duties in an agile manner. You need to be creative and efficient in hands-on content creation, digitally savvy with the ability to translate the technical features into commercially appealing customer benefits and messaging based on a deep customer understanding and knowledge of the marine market.

In this position, you will act as a main contact point for the selected MP business units and collaborate with several other key- and high-performing functions within the MP Marketing team and other mission and business-critical functions within Wärtsilä. You will report to General Manager, Business Unit Marketing in Marine Power Sales. The location is open but preferably in one of the major Wärtsilä locations.

To make that happen, we expect you as part of the team to:

  • Create, own, drive and report the success of marketing activities in coordination with and in support of the Marine Power business units.
  • Plan, budget and execute product and solution launches by translating the technical features and information into commercially appealing content and communicating the value in an inspiring and convincing way to markets in line with the business strategy.
  • Create and deploy demand generation campaigns in collaboration with the regional marketing team using all channels and manage the nurture journey of opportunities with sales teams.
  • Develop and produce marketing content for all customer touchpoints in collaboration with the team, stakeholders, and external marketing agencies including copy and visuals for sales collaterals, web content, ads, articles, reference stories, white papers, videos, webinars etc.
  • Identify & respond to market issues & trends relevant to the business, develop messaging & marketing value propositions accordingly.
  • Support thought leadership, media & PR activities for all Marine Power-related stories.

What it takes to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or similar fields preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in marketing, communications, or related work, preferably in an international B2B environment
  • Experience in the marine industry is a plus
  • Project management & coordination skills and ability to get things done with a focus on quality and on time delivery
  • Creative, yet analytical & structured
  • Skilled in content creation and working with agencies
  • Experience with digital tools, technologies, and platforms
  • Excellent management, communication, and decision-making skills particularly with senior business leaders
  • Experience in working with cross-functional and -cultural teams and multiple departments
  • Love working with engineers and understand marine markets as well as Wärtsilä’s Marine Power business
  • Curious to learn and eager to share your experience with others
  • Team player and goal orientated
  • Fluent in English
