We are now looking for a talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our Remote services support team in Wärtsilä Voyage Solutions.

The team helps the customer to achieve energy savings and improve their fleet operations through delivering unique insight into vessel performance,

based on real-time data collected from ships around the world and advanced analytics. 

This is a position for you, if you are passionate about using your technical skills to support customers to succeed in their business. We provide an international front-row seat to digital transformation of traditional maritime industry.

You will be a part of an experienced team tackling real-life challenges related to big data and analytics. 
 

Location: This position is fulltime and permanent, and it is located in the Wärtsilä Helsinki Campus in Salmisaari.

What will you be doing

Systems Engineer’s role is to support and maintain our current customer base.

In practice, this means tasks related to software delivery preparations, data processing & validation and troubleshooting such as

• Troubleshooting SW & HW issues
• Fixing data issues and providing feedback to further product development
• SW upgrades
• Preparing HW for customers

 
In addition, you get to participate in process and tool development to make all the above smoother going forward.
 

To be successful in this role, you should already know:

• Linux command line skills. This is a must, scripting skills are appreciated.
• Networking knowledge
• Python coding is an advantage.

 
You should also have:

• Customer oriented mindset
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Team working skills

 
While in the job, you will have a front row seat to learn about

• Utilizing big data to support data-driven decision making
• The world of data processing and validation flow
• Energy optimization in Marine industry

 
We value education and for this position Bachelor of Engineering with relevant studies is preferred or equivalent experience.

The position requires a good command of English, both spoken and written.
