Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) IT is now looking for an Application Architect / Azure for our IT Service Delivery team working towards sales and marketing functions. The position is permanent and located in Tampere, Finland or Sandviken, Sweden and you report to the IT Operations Manager for Sales and Marketing.

Your mission

In this position, you’ll participate in business requirements gathering, application design, documentation, and delivery. You ensure that the application architecture meets the true business needs and complies with architectural strategy and standards. You work as the point of contact for other IT deliveries and frequently discuss solution outlines with other architects. Working towards many different business domains such as sales, marketing, finance, and logistics, you ensure that our business requirements and strategies are successfully translated into new solutions. You provide guidance and direction to developers and suppliers with the mission to ensure that changes are developed in a cost effective, sustainable way. You contribute to the alignment of application architecture with solution and enterprise architecture.

Your character & background

We’re looking for an Application Architect with insight in building well-architected cloud applications on Azure platform. You know what vertical and horizontal scaling means and have previously worked with Azure building blocks. You can spot the right integration patterns and help design the needed integrations. You can do efficient database designs, and work with SQL. You understand the Agile and DevOps practices and know the basics of ITIL framework. Ideally you would have experience working on a global organization with many stakeholders both in IT and business. While technical knowhow is a must, to succeed you have also had exposure to business. You have understanding in business processes, and preferably background in the Manufacturing industry.

You are self-directed, organized, proactive, and poses good teamworking skills. To thrive in this position, you have an analytical approach and can communicate your thoughts to stakeholders coming from different domains. You are eager to learn new things as well as mentor others in your domain of excellence. Being perceptive and sympathetic, you easily create a trusting environment for collaboration. You’re also a passionate networker, using your excellent collaboration skills to interact and build valuable and open relationships. You speak and write fluent English.
