Job description

Redefining computing relies on us creating hardware and software that seamlessly merge virtual, mixed and traditional reality while designing and developing completely new ways of using cameras, complex imaging pipelines and unique algorithms to create that illusion.

We are now looking for a principal software product manager to lead and drive our device platform vision and work closely with cross-functional teams across design and engineering. You will be responsible for working with customers and partners to validate their needs and turn those into outcome driven development together with your peer engineer teams. Areas of work will range for example from how we best serve the market with unique eye tracking technologies, what are the right interaction technology bets for immersive use, to are we offering the right solutions on device management and visual quality.You will daily iterate with your peers on defining and building the right solutions that you then steer with various modern product management techniques and metrics.

As an individual we are looking for an entrepreneurial product lead who has a strong interest in VR/XR products and can think big on a vision level but apply discipline and firm hand in executing that vision. You are comfortable with technologies that you don’t yet deeply understand but can frame them through customer value.

This is a full-time position located in Helsinki, Finland .  You can do a large part of your work remotely in Finland. What ever works best for you. 

If you're based somewhere else at the moment, we will also gladly help with relocating to Finland and make your move to the Scandinavia as easy as possible.

Responsibilities

• Lead the product strategy and feature roadmap for core SW technologies for Varjo headsets. Validate customer needs and solutions with customers and partners.
• Establish shared objectives and goals across Varjo and use those to steer the development projects internally and with our software partners
• Drive daily and weekly software product development together with engineering and design
• Work closely with partners and customers to stay on top of the customer needs and ensure the right product focus
• Define and analyse metrics to measure and inform the success of products.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in software product management
• A history of working with software that is closely tied with physical products.
• Track record of taking products to market and improving on them.
• Experience of using analytical tools and KPI’s as part of product management
• Bonus if you have previous experience with VR/XR or computer vision products.
