As the Retention Marketing Manager, you will play a crucial role in our product’s success by inspiring millions of musicians on their journey of playing a musical instrument. You will get a chance to craft and execute a messaging strategy for the Yousician and GuitarTuna products loved by millions of users worldwide. You will have a big influence over the user experience and business outcomes. 

You will collaborate with product teams to understand and enhance the end to end user journey and create inspiring moments through push notifications and email messaging to improve user activation, engagement and retention. This role will allow you to build a world-class consumer product and elevate your career. 

 

What you'll do

  • Own the messaging strategies across our products and execution of push notification and email campaigns, and A/B tests.
  • Analyze, identify, and prioritize opportunities in product messaging campaigns to increase user activation, retention, and conversion to a subscription. 
  • Craft effective messaging across our products through strong copywriting independently and by working with a copywriter. 
  • Collaborate with product managers, product designers, engineers, product marketing, and many others to bring product experiences to life and towards a holistic user experience. 
  • Clearly communicate the messaging strategy and roadmap, experiment hypotheses and results throughout the organization and to the executive leadership. 
  • Continuously gather insights from user feedback, research, data, and A/B tests to understand the why behind user behavior and translate these findings into actions. 
  • Build an understanding of our users, why they come to Yousician and their journey from starting the app for the first time to learning their favorite songs and building a habit and how messaging would work best to bring them back. 

 

Who you are

  • Experience in driving and executing messaging campaigns (push notifications and emails) in a technology-powered product.
  • Familiarity with any of the CRM tools e.g. Leanplum, Braze. 
  • Experience working across different channels.  
  • Copywriting skills in user interface copy, user education, marketing or transactional emails.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strong business outcomes through messaging experiments.
  • Strong ability to understand and solve customer problems. You can work effectively with product designers and PMs to understand problems of our users and find effective solutions to them through messaging. Ability to think holistically about the user experience.    
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decisions. You know how to successfully validate your hypotheses using data. Comfort with data and A/B testing frameworks.  
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple projects across several teams in a fast-paced environment.
