It is an exciting time in Telia, and we looking to scale up our global dedicated design system team with a new UX/UI Designer. You will join this cross-functional team consisting of five other talented UX/UI Designers, six Frontend Developers, a UX Researcher, a Product Owner, and a Scrum Master. The team members are distributed over the following geographical locations - Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.

Our VOCA team is responsible for the creation and implementation of our Global Design System. It provides the building blocks needed by our product teams across the company to design and ship intuitive, cohesive, brand-compliant, and inclusive digital experiences at scale.

As UX/UI Designer in VOCA, you will be driving the design of new stunning UI components, taking our user interface designs to the next level. You will also write usage instructions and tutorials for developers and designers to ensure consistency and quality in new digital product features. You will be working in the intersection of product design, front-end development, and content design together with a talented team of front-end developers and other UX/UI designers.

The role includes, but is not limited to:  

• Designing sharable and easy to use UI components in Figma 
• Collaboration with other UX Designers and Frontend Developers
• Writing usage instructions for Voca’s UI tokens and components
• Performing visual checks of the UI components coded in Javascript
• Creating guidelines and video tutorials for users of the Voca Design System
• Guiding product team UX Designers, who use or contribute to Voca
• Applying brand identity styles consistently to Voca’s UI components
• Helping us improve tools and practices used by the Voca Team
• Communicating the value of a global design system in the organization

You are ready for a challenge, someone who enjoys working in a climate where there are a lot of unanswered questions to solve.

You are experienced in agile ways of working, continuously encouraging innovation and improvements. Your formal education and experience may vary, but you are passionate about designing best-in-class user interfaces for web solutions and mobile apps using design system best practices in a Nordic and Baltic setting. You also have the stamina to help drive the implementation of a large, company-wide design system, which aims to serve all digital products in Telia. Caring, daring, and simplifying are your mantra.

• A natural tendency towards system-level design thinking
• Good verbal and visual communication (our corporate language is English)
• Flawless and concise written English
• Comfortable with handling multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent interpersonal, networking, and coordination skills
• Meticulous attention to detail

Your skills and experience:  

• 3+ years of experience designing user interfaces for web and mobile apps
• 1+ years of experience with company-wide design system implementation
• Domain knowledge about human interface guidelines, accessibility, visual design, motion design, responsive UI, design system languages, and UI patterns for web and mobile apps
• Expert proficiency in Figma. Especially libraries, auto-layout, etc.
• Basic knowledge of documentation publishing tools, like Frontify or Zeroheight
• Experience with end-user testing is a plus
• Basic familiarity with front-end technologies, like Javascript, HTML, and CSS would be a huge bonus.
• Used to work in an agile development environment like SAFe or similar
