Job Description

ACS Applications specialists are experienced technical experts with deep real world practical knowledge of Oracle Applications. The focus of this role shall be ATG Web Commerce and Endeca Commerce and associated components. ACS team often work directly or remotely with customers and integrators with Advanced Services Management (ASM) to develop pragmatic and innovative Technology solutions to address specific customization, integration, performance concerns or other complex technical implementation challenges. This includes simple software patching through to more complex ATG Web Commerce upgrades to version 11. Requirement is to work on site or remote according to customer needs.

Technical Experts focus at System Architecture, Server- and Middle-Tier components, Data Interfaces, System Integration and related technology, Sizing, Capacity, Server Setup and Topology, Performance and load balancing, RDBMS Technology, Backup- and Recovery concepts, High Availability and other related topics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive Technical Reviews, Workshops or Expert Assistance as defined by the ACS Service Portfolio
• Work with customers, Implementation Partners and ASM to ensure proper design and implementation of ATG Web Commerce products for application stability, maintainability and performance.
• Proactively advise customers of available patches or fixes and identify, avoid possible incidents from known problems
• As member of a dedicated Account Team provide technical assistance in close cooperation with Global Support for faster problem analysis and critical issue resolution; act as technical lead and problem owner for critical or complex issues
• Develop and verify workarounds, engage with Engineering in Bug Fix process
• Research and respond to technical enquiries
• Set and manage realistic technical feasibility expectations with Clients / Partners
• Act as a trusted technology advisor and champion for Customer satisfaction – address any issues which may arise in this context
• Maintain and expand in-depth Expert level knowledge and pass relevant trainings
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of ACS services or development of new services

Qualifications

• Technical background in IT and/or Computer Science with postgraduate degree
• A minimum of 5 years experience in relevant computer applications (RDBMS, development tools, enterprise applications, Web technology) is required
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Oracle ATG Web Commerce
• Ability to design, review and implement ATG Web Commerce architecture as well as sizing, hardware recommendations, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of customer websites is required
• Hands-on experience or proficiency with Java, JavaScript, J2EE development platform (Servlets, JSP, EJB, JNDI etc.), Active Server Pages etc. on both Unix and NT platforms (Solaris/AIX/HP-UX, NT) and the 3-tier architecture and technologies (Web-Server, AppServer, DBServer).
• Indepth experience with 3 or more of the following WS/AS/DB development environments\: IIS, IPlanet, Apache, WebLogic, Websphere, Oracle, DB2, MS SQLServer.
• Prior experience with Java and C++ development is preferred.
• Oracle Endeca Guided Search and Experience Manager domain knowledge and  implementation experience is desirable
• Flexibility to travel is a must.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work as a team player as well as on own initiative
• Experience with load and performance testing, tools desirable
• German and/or Spanish language skills are a plus
• Hands-on experience in the following ATG Web Commerce modules is required, any other module is an advantage;
