We are currently looking for a driven Project Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team in Automation R&D. This position is full-time, permanent, and based in Tampere, Finland. This is an incredible opportunity for you to join our Business Unit Automation team and be part of the digital transformation in the mining industry, with projects ranging from embedded software for self-driving industrial vehicles, AI and machine learning. Your mission

As member of the R&D Systems Engineering team you will be in a key role to ensure the success of our engineering work by leading and maintaining the interaction between the R&D teams and key stakeholders.

In your role you will be:

  • Working on requirements to fulfill the targets and requests set by the product management.
  • Organizing the planning and execution of the engineering work in Software, Automation and Hardware projects as well as driving the integration between different systems and managing the different release cycles.
  • Innovating new ways of working to further improve our engineering work practices.

About you and what we find important

You have a relevant technical education like a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. and preferably prior experience with engineering development projects. With your systematic approach and structured way of working, you can produce high quality documentation for plans and specifications. You are fluent in written and spoken English.

You are comfortable in interaction with colleagues and are willing to build relationships over the organization borders. Self-starter attitude and eagerness to learn and improve your capabilities will help you to find innovative solutions to complex problems in our rapidly evolving high-tech environment.

You have willingness to travel internationally on occasions.
