In the Underground Mining Division, we develop mining equipment for the needs of underground drilling, transportation and loading, and mining automation for our global customer base. We want you to join us in developing the best mining machines in the world. Sandvik Mining and Construction's product offering development team at the Turku plant is looking for a product engineer for product development tasks for underground mining equipment.

Your mission

You will work on the design of steel structures, electrical and mechanical power transmissions, mechanisms and systems for mobile machinery. You work as a product engineer in the product development of loading machines and dumpers and will be responsible for the quality and competitiveness of your own products, and you keep your products up-to-date, taking safety and official regulations into account. You also work in close cooperation with other areas of planning, industrial design, manufacturing, product support, spare parts sales, as well as with our suppliers and other partners.

Your background and what we find important

You have suitable educational background (Di or engineer), 3D CAD knowledge, and several years of experience in demanding design and product development tasks. You have already gained strong knowledge and skills from your previous work career. You are a problem-solver, innovative and have a genuine desire to develop new solutions and entities, as well as to complete even challenging matters. Knowledge of moving equipment, hydraulics and control systems, as well as experience in strength calculation is considered an advantage. The ability to sketch things and graphic ability will also be considered as an advantage in the selection. Success in the task requires you to take initiative and have an active approach to work, good communication skills, persistence, and fluent oral and written English.
