We are looking for a Chief Project Engineer, Process to Project Engineering in Wärtsilä Energy Business. The Chief Project Engineer will manage the process discipline in Power Plant customer delivery projects, starting from supporting the sales activities until warranty end. 

Chief Project Engineer, Process is responsible for the whole process design and/or a defined part of the scope in project execution towards the Project Manager for the project. The Project Manager is responsible for the whole project including all disciplines (electrical, mechanical and civil parts). The task is to execute the scope of work for own responsibility area including design (together with partners), procurement of materials and services, and support of installation and commissioning activities at site.

The location for this permanent position is one of the Wärtsilä offices in Finland (Helsinki/Vaasa/Turku).

Responsibilities
 

  • Safeguard that process design is executed according to contract specifications and design directives as a member of the project team
  • Make purchase specifications and bill of quantities as required for the project execution
  • Perform process calculations and simulations needed for the process design
  • Make project specific design and design packages
  • Co-ordinate the design between sub-suppliers and follow-up of delivery
  • Support our site team during installation and commission phases
  • Support the process engineers in complex process designs
  • Participate in development projects when demanding process design is needed
  • Participate in developing the way of working for process engineering


Requirements
 

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience of process engineering
  •  Interested in working in an international team developing oneself and others
  •  Being self-going and motivated to learn and grow professionally
  •  Ability to understand and work with diverse cultures
  •  Experience of Heat recovery (Combined cycle, Hot water) or Fuel systems (Natural gas, LPG, H2, NH3
  •  Experience in making Process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Experience in making technical process documentation
  • Experience of simulation tools like ASPEN HYSYS, MatLab Simulink is seen as a benefit
  •  Knowledge of HVAC applications is seen as a benefit
  • Willingness to travel
  • Good communication, negotiations and team working skills
  • Good written and oral skills in English, other languages seen as a benefit
