Aktia IT is working closely with Aktia Life Insurance and driven to create a great customer experience and we believe that our efforts enable the best digital bank and asset manager in Finland. We like team players that are ready to get their hands into tech and keep their finger on the pulse. Now we are looking for a QA engineer with an interest in banking and insurance to join the Life insurance value stream team. 

About this role

In your role as a QA Engineer, you will develop Aktia Life Insurance digital services through quality assurance for different components from UI through integrations all the way to databases. You will work for the common goals of the value stream by contributing to the definition and the application of quality assurance goals. You are a motivated team player who wants to learn and develop your skills and business understanding.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Review and validate requirements and technical specifications
• Collaborate with the development team, product owner and business analysts on verification and validation of the products throughout the software development life cycle
• Create and execute test plans and detailed test cases (both manual and automated) based on requirements and prioritization
• Develop and maintain automated test suits
• Offer observations and improvement suggestions based on analysis of the test results and overall product quality
• Support and enhance the test processes and test reporting
• Be part of the Aktia’s QA community and ready to help QA members when needed 

In order to succeed in this role, you must have:

• 3+ years’ experience as a QA engineer or equivalent role
• Minimum 1 year experience with automated testing tools or equivalent test automation skills
• Experience in SaaS based application testing and API testing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Finnish or Swedish
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and principals
• Flexibility, patience, and resilience

Besides the above skills and qualifications, we would really appreciate it if you had:

• Experience with Robot Framework and third-party libraries, Xray and JIRA
• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate
• Prior insurance industry knowledge

This role will require travelling to Turku office occasionally.

• After the preliminary screening we will invite the most suitable candidates for the job to come in for an interview. The first interview round can also be in the form of a video.
• A second interview with our QA team and key stakeholders to figure out how Aktia’s vision and culture match your knowledge, skills, and ambitions.
• A small hands-on test
• We will use an enquiry describing the personality traits as a part of the job interview. Answering the enquiry is voluntary and the results are always discussed and gone through with you.

We will conduct credit reference and security clearance vetting for the person to be recruited.
