Underground Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is an industry leading global provider of drilling equipment for underground mining industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy’s Tampere Site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment.

We are now looking for an active and skilled Automation Engineer to join our Underground Drilling Division Supply Quality & Operational Excellence team. This is a permanent position and is based in Tampere, Finland.

Your role

Your key role is to design and implement efficient quality control processes for automation and electrical assemblies. You are responsible for planning and coordinating automation and electrical activities to ensure high-quality products. You will also be our key person in unit start-ups at our plant and take the lead in training and documentation. Daily communication with internal and external stakeholders is an essential part of the job. Your performance will significantly affect the productivity of assembly processes as well as customer satisfaction.

What are we looking for?

You have a suitable technical educational background (e.g., Engineer or Master of Science). Solution-focused mindset and good interpersonal skills are required to be successful in this job. Your way of working is systematic and well organized and remains also under pressure. Practical approach and problem-solving skills are highly appreciated. Earlier practical experience in software production, electrics and automation is seen as an advantage. The ability to speak and write fluently in English is required in this job.
