We are looking for a Business Controller to Business Unit, Project Services. You will report to Director, Business Control, Project Services. The preferred location for this permanent position is in Finland but other Wärtsilä locations eg. in Germany, Norway and Netherlands will be considered. 

Project Services in Marine Power organization is a Business Unit with profit & loss responsibility for new-build and retrofit Marine business. You will be a key member of a team focused on profitable growth of our projects business. We are responsible for both new-build and retrofit projects, focused on improved efficiency and decarbonisation of our customers assets; all in alignment with our Smart Marine Strategy.

As a Business Controller your main responsibilities and requirements will be as follows:

Main responsibilities:
 

  • Responsible for on-time, reliable, high quality business management reporting and analysis in compliance with Corporate and divisional guidelines.
  • Participate in the forecasting process in Project Services.
  • Ship Electrical Solutions Business control support 
  • Follow up the realisation of targets set forward in long range plans, budgets and estimates of the function
  • Support, highlight and monitor corrective actions within Project Services functions on deviations.
  • Model and maintain meaningful overviews, insights, reports and analysis on how our business is performing today and in the future.
  • Ensure follow up of strategic and tactical targets and programmes.
  • Support the organisation in taking the next steps into becoming more data driven and creating value. 
  • Set up, manage and develop Project Services business reporting structures, reporting processes and tools that are supporting and responding to the business need.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and business analysis to stakeholders
  • Ensure harmonized and common approach on reporting content and processes.
  • Based on financial business information, proactively analyse business opportunities and make proposals for business development.
  • Actively participate in developing the Project Services level controlling issues as well as developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure success of the business
     

Main requirements
 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Economics
  • Deep financial knowledge
  • Strong business understanding 
  • You like to get things done with a proactive attitude.
  • Proactive, highly dynamic person with a strong personal drive
  • Ability to see and explain complex issues in a simple way
  • Forward thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo 
  • Goal focused with analytical mind set

  • Excellent communication skills
