We are seeking a (Senior) Application Security Specialist to help our teams to deliver robust and secure applications. As one of the lead experts within our Maritime cyber security team, you will integrate security activities at every stage of software development lifecycle working with internal and external stakeholders. Position is offered on permanent basis and location can be Helsinki (Finland) or Belgrade (Serbia).

Key Responsibilities:

You will be working with application security and leading our DevSecOps initiatives. Together with wider cyber security community development and operations teams you seek opportunities to make the most of secure development lifecycle activities, automating CI/CD Pipelines and advocating Wärtsilä’s #cybersecuretogether culture. You will:

  • Set up various security tools, review results and suggest actions to the teams (Development and operations)
  • Automate development processes to make cyber security activities part of the development and testing processes
  • Provide cyber security guidance, advisory and consultancy to Voyage R&D Teams for product & solution related security questions (for example vulnerability management)
  • Help in translating cyber requirements into tangible actions and solutions that are meeting current and future needs
  • Participate or conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Support team in their product security certification efforts (internal and external)

To be successful in this role, we expect You have:

  • Motivation to learn ever-evolving cyber landscape
  • Working experience in application Security (secure programming, container security, API security, secure development models,)
  • Working experience of various security testing tools SAST, SCA, IAST, DAST

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Experience of modern software development as a developer, test engineer or similar
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft technology (Azure, GitHub)
  • Ability to perform or support penetration testing / vulnerability assessments
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to share your knowledge
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software development/engineering
