An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller to join the Marine Global Business Support Centre (GBSC).  We are now looking for a Project Controller to join our Project Control team, supporting Project Services within Marine Power.

GBSC is a global competence and expertise centre for FICO activities in project business within the Marine businesses. The main functions are project creation, trade finance, invoicing, project control and reporting. GBSC is responsible for ensuring high class quality in optimised processes and usage of tools.

As a Project Controller you are accountable for financial controlling and reporting of a specific project portfolio together with supporting Project Managers and project organizations with project financials. 

We are looking for an energetic, positive, accurate and systematic person that is familiar with financial controlling and project management principles. We value good team spirit and cooperation as well as great communication skills.

The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland or Hamburg, Germany but other European locations are also considered.

Main responsibilities:

- Monitoring and forecasting project profitability as well as analysing project cost and margin deviations.

- Ensure correct orderbook and financial reporting.

- Prepare monthly POC estimates together with Project Managers and ensure timely cost absorption on projects.

- Provide reports, analyses, and estimates of the financial performance of the project portfolio.

- Managing the project portfolio monthly closing activities as well as rolling forecasting, providing on-time, reliable, high-quality result and reporting.

- Follow up issues and risks. Ensure risk assessment is reflected in the project cost planning.
- Support Project Managers and Business Controllers in project financials.
- Lead project related monthly reviews together with the Project Management teams.
- Accountable for the development of own function and knowledge sharing.

- Conduct internal trainings and improve processes.

Requirements:


- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Economics 
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in project controlling and related accounting

- Good understanding of POC projects and their required estimating and follow-up
- Team player as well as ability to work independently as a financial specialist, knowing where to address and solve issues that will affect other parts of the organization

- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, take initiative and achieve results
- Good SAP knowledge especially in PS and FICO modules
- Good analytical and reporting skills 
- Flexibility and willingness to learn and grow along the business requirements

- Service minded, enthusiastic, and pragmatic 

- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
