Load & Haul Division within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is an industry leading global provider of loaders and trucks for underground mining industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik’s Turku Site is a global technology and manufacturing center for loading and hauling equipment. Our L&H organization is currently looking for a skillful Sustainability Manager.

Your mission

Sandvik has committed to set targets in line with the Since Based Targets initiative (SBTi), consistent with the Paris Climate Agreement of keeping global warming below 1.5° C. We also commit to become a net-zero carbon emissions company by 2050 at the latest. The role is responsible for driving the development, planning and implementation of the Sustainability Strategy and its execution for the L&H Division of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions to reach our division specific sustainability targets, and to support making sustainability an integral part of our daily thinking.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Ensure sustainability is integrated in L&H Division to create value for our stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders, as well as society.

• Lead the development and implementation of L&H 2025 Sustainability Strategy and future strategies, to ensure that we deliver on our 2030 Sustainability Goals in the areas of Climate, Circularity, People and Fair Play

• Sustainability reporting towards the Business Area SMR and the Sandvik Group

• Participate in preparing communication of the sustainability benefits of our product offering to our customers

• Ensure L&H employees have a good understanding of Sandvik Sustainability objectives, through internal communication, training and development

• Represent L&H on various Sustainability venues, also in the role of a speaker

Your character & background

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about sustainability, keeping abreast of global developments and innovation and is motivated to achieve result. You have a degree (or equivalent experience) in Sustainability, Environmental Management or a related field, and you are experienced in various sustainability reporting frameworks (ie. UNSDG’s, SBTi).

Your personality is important to us! You’re an exceptional communicator with excellent active listening and facilitation skills. You can easily influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. As a character you’re flexible, resilient and adaptable and be able to work in ambiguous situations and at the same time you’re a team player who values collaboration. You’re great at building and nurturing productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels and of diverse backgrounds.
