Squad Group Leader for DSP SW development.
 
Job Description:
We're looking for a Squad Group Leader for DSP SW development team. DSP SW Squad Group, among other Squad Groups, will belong to SoC R&D ASIC Tribe. As a leader of team, you will report to the Tribe Leader. You are the one who leads experienced DSP SW Engineers to work on latest System-on-Chip (SoC) based processing solutions for Nokia 5G-NR (New Radio) and LTE base stations. Your role is to steer and give strong contribution for DSP SW team through all steps in the development cycles: architecture, specification, implementation and testing. Contribution here means that you have a good hand on experience for a DSP SW and HW interworking, and you can bring and evaluate new visions on the DSP SW Squad Group responsibility area.
 
You are capable to:
  • Steer the Squad Group members towards the well-defined targets,
  • Remove the obstacles for the team to achieve and define its targets,
  • Listen to the team members, co-operative teams, as well as, the Nokia strategy    
  • Be the strong leader and willing to defend your own-, Squad Group-, Tribe and Nokia opinions,
  • Understand and implement the DSP SW development needs on focus area:
    • 5G DSP SW implementation on the world leading SoC based on latest ASICs, and FPGAs technology, 
    • 5G radio algorithm development for DSPs as well as modelling of the algorithms on pre-silicon phase,
    • DSP-/HW architecture technology selections, design implementation and testing.
    • Working with experts of different areas to ensure the most competitive solutions
    • Cooperating with system engineers, product development teams, suppliers and other relevant functions to solve technical issues, and
    • HW/SW bring-up and debug.

 

Requirements for this position (you should have a representing set from there):
  • Proven people management and wellbeing experience,
  • Fluent in C  / C++ / Matlab
  • Several years of working experience on DSP SW and HW,
  • Understanding the interworking of DSP SW, DSP HW and HW accelerators,
  • Wireless/telecom receiver/transmitter algorithm understanding at least one radio standards, like 5G, LTE, WiFi,
  • Know-how from Radio Protocol stacks related to some radio technology and ability to apply this to the future radios,
  • Understanding of the Software Defined Radio (SDR) and the algorithms implemented,
  • FPGA and/or ASIC technology understanding is a big merit,
  • Big bonus: VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, UVM,
  • Required: fluent spoken and written English,
  • Pro-activity, problem solving and communication in multi-site R&D environment, and
  • Well-motivated and innovative to develop/implement new 5G DSP algorithms.
