Come and build a sustainable and seamless industry in Nortal’s Digital Oil & Energy tech team! We are looking for Cloud Data Engineers to a big IoT-project. We integrate and redesign processes, operations and automation to make businesses smarter, safer and more sustainable. With over 30 years of industrial experience, we cover every step on companies' roadmaps towards Industry 4.0, optimizing value chains and resources with next-generation technologies. 
 
Your daily tasks can include a combination of picking up stories from Jira, contributing to code development, working with the client to determine what stories are needed, prioritizing stories, developing & testing code, contributing to automation, creating minimally-viable-products and data modeling with data from devices and expectations from data science team.  
 
You should be willing to work on-site and side-by-side with the client (located in the capital area) for 3 days a week.  All tasks may include diagram and/or document creation to spread information across teams

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Scripting experience using Golang, Python (2 & 3), Bash, or Powershell
  • High proficiency in CI/CD Pipeline lifecycle (building & maintaining), have opinions on CI/CD Pipepline use & future growth
  • Automation related to ensuring the infrastructure state (Any tools are acceptable. At Nortal we use a mix of Ansible, Terraform, Helm & Velostrata/CloudEndure)
  • Knowledge of automation in building Containers, Machine Images and/or Baked VMs
  • Some experience or knowledge with multiple deployment styles including rolling deployments, blue/green and canary builds
  • Monitoring and measurement (Prometheus, Grafana, fluent.d, SysDig, StackDriver, SumoLogic, Splunk, InfluxDB)
  • Experience with fast moving, low latency messages
  • Experience or knowledge of message broker classifications "at most once", "at least once", "only once" along with pros/cons and implementation requirements for each
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, mostly within Finland
