Nokia is searching for a candidate for an important role at its headquarters in Espoo working in the press office. Reporting to the head of media relations, the successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that all inbound enquiries to the company are dealt with in a timely manner and that all outbound press communications (including approximately 200 press releases a year) are to the high standard and coherence that our stakeholders expect from us.
The role is central for the international media relations team and would suit someone who is an strong communicator, able to run complex processes such as the operational side of putting together major media announcements or ensuring the company has excellent media metrics. The role includes being a part of the team to prepare all of our corporate activities such as Nokia’s Annual Report, AGM and quarterly earnings. Additional projects will be assigned by the head of media relations under the framework either of our marketing campaigns or reputation drivers. Therefore, as well as the operational side of the role it would suit a candidate happy to roll their sleeves up and get to grips with content which can vary from product-specific (e.g. 5G, public safety) to important company-wide subjects (e.g. Nokia as a place to work, sustainability).
The successful candidate will understand the media audience well, particularly from an earned media point of view, be familiar with the capabilities of social media and aware of the shifting nature of global media outlets.
Joining a dynamic communications team with media relations experts around the world and working closely with stakeholders in marketing, investor relations and legal, the candidate should have resourcefulness, energy and a good ability to prioritize activities to those which most clearly positively impact Nokia’s business.
 
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Part of the team to handle inbound inquiries to Nokia Press Services.
  • Responsible for operating corporate tools for e.g. media monitoring and press release distribution.
  • Communications support for top Nokia executives including identifying opportunities and hosting media interviews.
  • In-depth organizational and relevant business knowledge and understanding of how relevant areas can be integrated to achieve objectives.
  • Contributes to strategic decisions across the breadth of the company, sometimes on short notice and with input from multiple stakeholders.
Experience of managing projects, expert in more than one area, broad perspective. Must have extensive relevant experience in a large corporate environment, graduate degree or equivalent.
Knowledge of Finnish a plus.
Typically requires 4-6 years relevant experience and / or a graduate equivalent (or higher) degree.
