Metsä Board is looking for

DIRECTOR, OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE  

to its head office in Espoo or some of the Metsä Board’s mill locations in Finland. In the position, you are responsible for supporting Metsä Board mills in practical implementation of Metsä Group’s unified business processes and Lean manufacturing system, methods and tools. As Director, Operational Excellence you will report to VP, Operational Excellence and work together with Metsä Group’s business units and Metsä Board mills.

Your role in the future Metsä

Your main responsibilities are:

• Develop and implement Metsä Group’s unified business process standards at all Metsä Board mills
• Act as a key driver in collaborating with mill’s personnel to train, mentor and drive changes
• Benchmark mills to evaluate development and improvement areas
• Share best practices and continuous improvement tools
• Support mills in targeted development projects
• Drive continuous improvement driven culture and enable organization to achieve operational excellence with business aligned KPIs.
   

What are we looking for?

We expect you to have a position relevant education (Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or similar) and practical experience in Lean implementation and working in manufacturing environment. To be successful in this position you will need to be analytical, innovative and result-oriented combined with good technical and problem solving skills. You need to work and contribute proactively both independently and in teams across the organisation. Good verbal and written communication skills in Finnish and English are required. Position requires travelling, mainly in Finland and Sweden.
