ICEYE is building the world’s largest constellation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites. The satellites can take images at any time of day – even when it’s cloudy or dark – and those images will let our customers understand the world better and make more intelligent decisions. We launched the world’s first SAR microsatellite in January 2018 and raised $65M in financing to date.

We are currently seeking Operations System Engineer Intern to join team for 4-6 months intership in our HQ office in Espoo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aiding in coordinating the implementation and analyzing metrics from ICEYE’s SAR imagery production systems
  • Aiding in analyzing RF interference scenarios and coordinating global RF allocations
  • Performing systems analysis needed to support constellation operations
  • Collaborating with internal teams to troubleshoot systems
  • Requirements

    • Ability to work well with other people and cross-functional teams and being able to adapt to a changing environment
    • Experience of projects/positions that require system level thinking
    • Good understanding of Radio Frequency propagation
    • Good understanding of Software Development
    • Fundamental understanding of Orbital Mechanics
    • Time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and deliver ontime
    • Master level studies in a relevant engineering field
    • Strong English language skills (both written and oral)

    Nice to have:

  • Previous experience from working in a start-up environment
  • Previous practical experience from RF systems
  • Finnish language skills are desirable
  • Ability to program in Python
  • Familiarity with Linux based systems
  • Familiarity with STK, Savoir (or similar), scenario simulations & orbit propagations
