Finance System Specialist

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling. Sandvik’s Tampere plant is a global technology and manufacturing center for mining equipment. Business Control team is now looking for analytical and energetic Finance System Specialist. This role is a permanent position based in Tampere.

Your responsibilities

As a Finance System Specialist you will be responsible for finance systems development and maintenance as well as performing controlling and financial analysis tasks in selected areas. The main responsibilities are:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert on finance reporting and forecasting system development
  • Creating development proposals for improving the current finance reporting environment
  • Participating in implementation of new reporting and forecasting solutions
  • Participating in finance master data maintenance
  • Developing and maintaining financial tool/application and process specific documentation
  • Participating in month end closing and rolling forecast tasks

Your skills and qualifications

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree finance/IT, industrial engineering and management or similar education with strong IT acumen. You have experience in developing financial systems and previous work experience from accounting/business control at a large global company or a manufacturing company. You have a proven experience in data analysis and reporting tools like MS Power BI, Qlikview, Cognos and knowledge of ERP systems, e.g. Lean System or MS Dynamics. Experience in project management, support or administration of the software systems, financial reporting solutions and DW solutions are considered as a merit as well as knowledge of forecasting/budgeting tools. You are an excellent team player and have analytical skills, you can quickly adopt new solutions and instructions and digest large amounts of data. Our work environment is international and fluency in English and Finnish (both written and spoken) are prerequisites for the job.
