We are looking for a Specialist, Cargo Care to join our Logistics Sourcing team for a permanent position to our office in Kotka or alternatively in Rauma, Finland.

UPM Logistics Sourcing is responsible for the global maritime and port network and related supplier management. Strategic priority is to secure customer satisfaction, leverage synergies and economies of scale in UPM Group.

In our innovative sea traffic development we explore benefits from today’s new technology, digitalization and automation development together with our supplier network. Operations are characterized by continuous improvements and having emphasized focus in ensuring environmental efficiency of the provided services. The logistics operations are complemented by several supportive and enabling functions which include Customs Clearance, Logistic Administration, Business Process Support & Analytics, Cargo Care and Safety & Security.

We are actively developing our cargo handling methods and looking digital transformation possibilities in port and maritime environment. Our intention is to strengthen Cargo care team in order to ensure each UPM business unit transport quality during transport chain. We are now looking for maritime and port expert to join our Cargo Care team.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure UPM’s products proper handling, storage and shipping conditions
  • Supervise UPM’s products handling and port operations
  • Participate vessel stowage planning process and manage equipment fleet
  • Take care of logistics subcontractor’s quality performance follow-up and KPI’s reporting
  • Support UPM’s businesses globally in logistics technical issues
  • Transport risk management, damage prevention and transport damage claim handling

Who you are

  • You have preferably Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and at least 3-5 years of working experience in maritime and port industry
  • You have strong solution-oriented mindset, analytical and problem-solving skills and independent way of working
  • You are good at team work and you have good communication skills, including presentation skills
  • You have business-oriented mindset and understanding of logistics chain
  • You have positive attitude and flexibility with working hours, position requires willingness to travel +50 days per year and driving license
  • You have fluent written and spoken English, other language skills are an asset
  • Knowledge in forest industry environment is considered as an asset
