ÅF Pöyry Process Industry Division is now looking for a

PROCUREMENT ENGINEER

to enforce our Project Management team in Vantaa, Finland.

Your main duties will include

• Being responsible for procurement activities in various projects and stages from sales proposal to project procurement execution
• Working side by side with project management to execute project procurement in most efficient way including typically:  
- choosing appropriate suppliers and contractors via prequalification procedures  
- negotiating agreements to purchase the required products and service contracts  
- awarding contracts to the vendors, and continue to administer these contracts throughout the project lifecycle  
- preparing procurement time schedules in co-operation with the project team  
- reporting on progress and deviations  
- expediting and managing supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness
• Besides standard project procurement objectives, achieving set targets through proactive collaboration with all project stakeholders

We are looking to find the following characteristics in our Procurement Engineer

• 3-5 years of experience in procurement and/or operations in industrial investment projects
• Knowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with contractors and suppliers
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Economics
• Good command of the use of common software tools, especially MS Excel
• ERP (eg. SAP) database management skills are highly regarded
• Strong organizational skills to manage a very busy desk with dozens of parallel activities
• Good communication skills to ensure a smooth communication with client’s organization and within the project team
• Desire for continuous business improvement and personal development  
• Fluency in English and Finnish is essential, other languages are an advantage
• Readiness to travel and relocate
• Proactive approach
