We are looking for a Senior Chief or Chief Engineer to our Paper & Finishing Technology Unit Engineering in Mill Improvements Business Unit, Services Business Line . You will be a member of our Global Mill Improvement Engineering Team. Your primary location will be in our Valmet location Raisio, Finland. 

We are looking for a business-minded and self-driven professional, who has genuine interested in leading global Air systems engineering and R&D, application and sales support. We expect you to share our passion in technology, engineering and the commitment to move Valmet´s and our customers' performance forward. 

Your main tasks and responsibilities include

• Leading of internal and external resources in demanding air systems mill improvement delivery projects for board- and paper machines
• Coordination of air systems engineering including on-site measurements, lay-out engineering, 3D-modelling, detail engineering and documentation
• In charge of engineering in our projects, making sure that all the project objectives are achieved.
• Technology and technical support to mill improvements application, sales team, on-site personnel globally and R&D in related matters
• In charge of air systems engineering subcontracting management and development
• Essential role in technology and product´s research and development activities
• Participation in prototyping, testing, commissioning, on-site support and troubleshooting when necessary
• Supporting of our Global & Area Organizations in engineering, application, sales and delivery projects

To be successful in this role we expect you to have

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in relevant area, e.g. mechanical engineering, paper, board or process technology and/or several years of experience in Paper and Board making industry 
• Pro-active team leading & people management skills
• Experience from air systems technology, products, engineering and working with different internal functions and in customer interface highly valued
• Good networking and collaboration skills and previous experience on working in global matrix organization
• Ability to quickly build relationships and achieve results both individually and as part of a team

In addition, you communicate fluently in Finnish and English – other language skills will be a benefit. You have excellent communication and negotiations skills which enables you to operate in global business environment & customer interface between Valmet and the customer. IT and automation skills would be appreciated since they are relevant part of our offering. Willingness to travel occasionally on international basis.
