In your role as Sr Software Systems Engineer you are responsible to analyze and provide engineering advice on system and software architectural issues on Radiation Oncology projects as well as on all interfaces to external (Varian and 3rd party) applications.

Major Responsibilities

• Analyzes system requirements and architectural aspects and their consequences/needs for Radiation Oncology projects. Defines system level requirements, guidelines, architectures and interfaces on Varian cross project issues and on world-wide Systems Engineering level (where our projects are affected) and assures consistency between those
• Supports Radiation Oncology projects (and other Varian projects on request) during ongoing development in system issues and, as needed on topics.
• Investigates system issues in the field that cannot be resolved by Product Support Engineers and/or project teams
• Advocates for high quality and reliablilty and avoiding technical debt.
• Supports product management and if required marketing/sales in architectural and connectivity questions
• Follows the advances in software engineering (including tools) and radiation therapy domain and shares knowledge with co-workers
• Keeps informed about IEC and other regulations that are relevant for our products

Desired Qualifications

• Engineering degree (FH/BSc/MSc/PhD)
• Several years of experience in industrial software development (C#/C++/Java)
• Excellent Radiation Therapy domain knowledge
• Knowledge of web and cloud technologies desirable
• Very good social and communication skills
• High level of motivation and commitment
• Fluency in written and spoken English
