We are now looking for a

LEGAL COUNSEL 

to join our Legal team in Turku.

Your responsibilities

As a legal counsel at Meyer Turku, you will gain a comprehensive overview of the shipbuilding industry and the variety of legal matters that are connected to the industry. 

Our legal team manages legal matters related to the business functions of the Meyer Turku shipyard. We work closely with all our departments to provide in-house legal advice. Due to the complexity of shipbuilding and the many types of functions needed in order to complete a cruise ship, the position offers interesting work tasks and a versatile working environment. 

Our legal team provides assistance especially in contractual issues related to investment projects, constructions, purchasing, technology, IT, R&D and NDA’s. 

Your focus will be on investment projects and any other legal matters depending on your background. 

Your responsibilities also include claims and other contract law related compensation processes. Your assignments could also include corporate law related issues. 

Who we are looking for

We expect you to have a Master’s degree in law as well as previous experience in Finnish law (potentially English law). To succeed in this role, you should have excellent Finnish and English skills, German or other language skills are considered as an advantage. 

We are looking for a candidate that has relevant work experience of at least three years. International experience is seen as a merit. You have an independent way of working, good stress management skills and the ability to work under pressure. You have good co-operation and communication skills as well as the ability for a fluent cooperation inside the organization and also externally. 

Interest and/or experience in maritime law is considered as an advantage.
