The School of Chemical Engineering is now looking for highly motivated

Doctoral candidate in All Copper Redox Flow Battery

Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry research group at Aalto University invites applications for doctoral candidate position in the research of all copper redox flow battery. The group has a long tradition in studying electrochemistry and transport phenomena both at electrodes and in membranes. Emphasis is often put in modelling of transport processes that are inherently coupled to electrochemistry, which means solving transport equations in either closed form or using modern numerical methods and software.

Job Description

In this position you have the opportunity to be a part of an international EU research project (Horizon 2020, type of action: RIA) that has altogether 11 partners. The project scope is an all copper redox flow battery (RFB) that will be scaled up from the laboratory scale to the pilot scale. Your main tasks would be to study the electrode reactions and to optimize the mem-branes (separators) in the RFB.
