We have open position for BSc/MSc thesis work in the area of advanced power electronics simulation techniques and methodologies. This position is in the base-station radio HW R&D team located in Oulu.

 

The thesis work will focus on power supply electronics design with an emphasis on the evaluation of low-frequency electromagnetic simulation tools and power system design methodologies, targeting to produce the highest quality radio products while at the same time significantly reducing development time and associated costs. The conducted simulations will be finally validated through measurements in the laboratory.

 

 

 

The successful completion of the thesis work will require following knowledge and skills:

 
  • BSc or MSc level studies with good grades in the field of electrical engineering
  • Very good knowledge on power and analogue electronics
  • Experience on electronic measurements and instruments  
  • Ability to work independently and within a design team, as well as in multicultural environment
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) 
  • Proactive and positive mindset with hands-on attitude 
  • Effective planning and good communication skills with simulation tool vendors and power-electronic component suppliers
Additionally following skills are highly appreciated:
  • Programming experience (e.g. Python, C, Labview, Matlab)
