As an Embedded Operating System Team Leader at u-blox you are responsible for a small software team developing the embedded operating system and core of the embedded system of our positioning products.
You lead the team in designing, documenting, implementing and testing of low level SW parts of our global navigation satellite system receiver firmware.

As a team leader, you will be responsible for line management duties like hiring, process definitions, guidelines, coaching and team member support.
The role can be located in Tampere, Finland or in Thalwil, Switzerland.
There will be occasional travel within Europe.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-site team of highly motivated engineers responsible for:
    • Developing the embedded operating system for our positioning products
    • Maintaining the operating system and adapting it to new chip generations and feature requests
    • Supporting in the definition and verification phase of new hardware blocks
    • Analyzing feedback or nonconformities, provide workarounds or developing bug fixes
  • Establish best practices and processes to maintain and improve effectiveness and efficiency in platform development
  • Enable and maintain efficient communications within the team and to other teams participating in cross-team projects
Your Skills and Experience
  • Degree in electrical engineering or computer science
  • Experience in team lead with personnel responsibility
  • 5+ years’ experience in:
    • Embedded software development in C
    • ARM cores (preferably of the Cortex-M family)
    • Real Time Operating Systems
  • Familiar with version control systems (GIT, SVN) and integrated development environments (Eclipse IDE, or similar).
  • Open minded and quality aware
  • Curious about learning new things
  • Good communications skills, desire for sharing experience and knowledge
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness and ability to travel on an occasional basis within Europe
Bonus Points
  • Knowledge in GNSS technology
  • Experience with scripting languages (preferably Perl)
  • Experience of working in an agile development environment
