As a Software Engineer for GNSS Integrity at u-blox you are responsible for the reliability of u-blox’s cutting edge navigation devices. With your experience and profound knowledge in the integrity domain you are familiar with state of the art integrity concepts, their theoretical background, advantages and drawbacks. Your knowledge about GNSS systems helps to tackle the increased challenges of integrity risk and protection level estimation in contrast to aviation. You are able to draft new technical concepts, evaluate their feasibility and derive specifications for integrity features of a GNSS receiver firmware.

You will also be responsible for testing, documentation, quality control and maintenance of the source code and you support our application engineers in debugging and providing workarounds of nonconformities. As a part of our international multi-site team of specialized integrity experts you contribute to the next generation of u-blox’s innovative and competitive navigation systems.


Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • overview, implementation and maintenance of integrity features within u-blox GNSS receivers
  • overview, assessment, simulation / testing and maintenance of integrity relevant hazards & monitors for GNSS integrity
  • knowledge of state of the art integrity concepts
  • delivery of new and improved integrity features
  • monitoring and evaluation of integrity KPIs
Requirements:
  • PhD or MS in machine learning, statistics, geodesy or similar
  • Profound scientific and engineering skills
  • MS Visual Studio, Eclipse or similar development environment
  • C/C++ and Matlab
  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • Good communication skills in English (oral and written)
 
Knowledge in the following areas:
  • Knowledge and experience with integrity for aviation
  • Knowledge in GNSS technology and related technology
  • Fault tree analysis (FTA), FMEA, hazard assessment or functional safety
  • Embedded software development
  • Experience working in international teams
 
Familiar with:
  • Unit testing
  • ASPICE or ISO/IEC 15504/33001
  • ISO 26262 or IEC 61508
