As an Application Engineer with focus on hardware design support, you will be working in a dynamic and international team within the Automotive Application Engineering team, providing technical assistance to worldwide customers and coordinating the support activities internally within the Product Development organization and respective R&D groups.
To be successful in this role, you have a good understanding of both embedded systems from system level and hardware design point of view. Analytical problem-solving skills and familiarity with typical measurement equipment also belong to your skill-set. You are communicating effectively with all stakeholders and understand the importance of customer support.
In this position you have the opportunity to work closely with several departments (product development, product managements, field application engineering and sales team) to help clear roadblocks towards commercializing automotive products within u-blox positioning technology as well as provide detailed technical and market feedback.

Your Responsibilities
  • Managing the technical customer support activities within the Automotive Application Engineering team
  • Creating technical documentation and presentations for customers
  • Proactively align and collaborate with the Product Development teams, Product Management and other R&D teams during product definition and development
  • Support the analysis of non-conformities and feed back to Quality and R&D for corrective actions
  • Host technical trainings and workshops for Field Application engineers and customers around the world.
  • Provide both internal and external support during customer design-in phase up to maintenance period
Your Skills and Experience
  • Master or Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in embedded systems hardware design or similar
  • Hands on experience with validation tools, development hardware, and test equipment.
  • Good understanding of GNSS technology, typical solution architectures and expected behavior of components
  • Experience with bug life cycle systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of hardware design, testing and measurement
  • Practical electronic skills such as soldering and willingness to use laboratory's test equipment when needed
  • Ability to replicate and analyze customer related issues
  • Customer-oriented, able to quickly understand the system architecture of customer's application, and advise field application engineers or key customer on possibilities, and consult on a technical level.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with u-blox subsidiaries and customers around the world
  • Demonstrated work initiative as a self-starter with time management and prioritization skills, with ability to follow up actions to closure
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and events in domestic and international locations
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
Bonus Point
  • Experience or good understanding of Radio-Frequency (RF) concepts
  • Experience in Global Positioning Systems (GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo)
  • Electronics design experience
  • Embedded software experience
  • Experience or good understanding of Automotive applications and market
