We are looking for an experienced Software / Test Engineer for development of Functional Safety Products with good knowledge of GNSS technology and embedded Software. You will be responsible of test development and verification of positioning products for safety-critical applications such as autonomous road vehicle control and navigation. In this role you will be interfacing directly with the engineering and development teams, capturing the test needs, and bringing them to definition, implementation and execution. Understanding the new requirements and how to verify the functionality is part of your work. For this you will collaborate with our safety critical product team, test lead as well as our verification and validation team for the overall goal of delivering high quality safety critical products for our customers. You will also develop and maintain our test harness, in its HW and SW components.

You will be part of the Verification and Validation team, which is responsible for the definition, development, planning, execution and review of the tests of u-blox positioning products. We are a multicultural, friendly and highly collaborative team split between Switzerland and Finland. Your analysis skills will enable you to find issues and work with colleagues to resolve them. And as a team player, you are able to deal with multiple requests, optimizing your daily work according to the priorities you have set with your colleagues.

This position is available in Tampere/Espoo, Finland.

Your Responsibilities
  •     Participate to the full functional safety-compliant product development life cycle (from design to validation and verification)
    •         Understanding the new requirements and how to verify them
    •         Define, implement and document test cases for safety critical products (GNSS and System verification)
    •         Execute and review tests for verification of requirements and specifications
    •         Report on accuracy and integrity of automated of results to involved parts, identify defects, bugs, non-compliances
    •         Work with test lead and developers to analyze requirements, reproduce problems and support solutions
  •     Develop your area of expertise and support decisions in that scope
  •     Contribute in the development of daily operation, lab maintenance
  •     Develop and maintain the test harness, in its HW and SW components

Your Skills and Experience
  •     Proven experience as Software / Test Engineer
  •     MSc in Software or Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent experience
  •     Familiar with C/C++, Python/Perl, Matlab or similar scripting languages
  •     Familiar with GNSS technology and embedded software development
  •     Strong documentation and communication skills
  •     English fluent both written and spoken
  •     Pro-active attitude and a strong desire to collaborate

Bonus Points
  •     Good understanding of revision control systems (like Git, SVN)
  •     Functional safety (e.g. ISO 26262 certification)
  •     Experience with lab tools, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers
  •     Knowledge of RF signal concepts, noise figure, measurements of key RF parameters
  •     Experience on serial communication (uart, usb)
  •     Basic understanding of schematics and test boards
  •     Requirements management tools (e.g. SystemWeaver, Jama, JIRA, IBM Doors, or others)
