Job Description As a fast-growing System Engineering team within Safety Critical Product organization, we are applying our best research and engineering capabilities to new products for which not only positioning performance, but also integrity and safety matters. Nowadays satellite-based positioning technology is widely accepted and integrated within many non-safety-critical tasks in mass-market applications, such as mobile phones and automotive infotainment, and also in some safety-critical tasks within dedicated limited-market applications especially in general aviation. We are looking for experienced and passionate Senior Test Engineer Safety Critical System Engineering for our Safe Positioning System development . You will be responsible of system level test specification definition and test development for safety-critical positioning products . In this role , you will be interfacing directly with the system architect and engineers (who are your teammates), verification and validation team and development teams . You will capture the test needs and bring them to test specification definition . Hence, understanding the new system level requirements and how to verify the functionality is key part of your work. Planning and defining necessary Verification and Validation Strategies to ensure targeted performance and safety together with System Engineers and Verification and Validation experts Participate to the full functional safety-compliant product development life cycle (from design to validation and verification)
Understanding the new system level requirements and how to verify them Defining, implementing and documenting system level test cases for safety critical products (GNSS and System verification) Reviewing test results against requirements and specifications and reporting performance and possibly identified defects, bugs or non-compliances
Ensuring that system design meets the automotive quality , functional safety and integrity standards (ISO-26262 , ISO-21448 ) Developing your area of expertise and supporting decisions in that scope
Your Skills and Experience
Proven experience as Software / Test Engineer MSc in Software or Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent experience Familiar with C/C++, Python/Perl, Matlab or similar scripting languages Familiar with GNSS technology and its integrity (incl. fundaments of statistical mathematics behind them) Familiar with embedded software development Strong documentation and communication skills English fluent both written and spoken Pro-active attitude and a strong desire to collaborate Able to travel to other EU u-blox sites and locations, especially during the ramp-up of the team competencies (naturally, considering COVID19 restrictions)

Good understanding of revision control systems (like Git, SVN) Functional safety (e.g. ISO 26262 certification) Automotive Testing/ Development expertise Experience with lab tools, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers Knowledge of RF signal concepts, noise figure, measurements of key RF parameters Experience on serial communication (uart, usb) Basic understanding of schematics and test boards Requirements management tools (e.g. SystemWeaver, Jama, JIRA, IBM Doors, or others) Experience in working within a regulated industry
