We are looking for a new colleague to join us in developing new positioning products and new features for our positioning products. As a member of the product development team you will participate in the creation of state of the art products that keep u-blox a leading supplier in the industrial and professional GNSS market.

Your daily work will include a wide range of tasks including new software features development, tuning, optimisation and integration of existing components. You will contribute to successful product releases from concept to final delivery. This will introduce you to a broad range of aspects of positioning receivers and you can expect to build a broad understanding of positioning technologies and software development within a diverse group of RnD teams.

For this role we expect, at minimum, knowledge of C programming language and understanding the constrains of software engineering for embedded systems.

Are you hands-on with practical software development and motivated to quickly become an integral part of positioning receiver development? If yes, you will quickly feel at home in our team.

With our international multi-site product development team, we offer a unique and challenging role. We provide time for growing into the role and foster team work as well as transfer of knowledge across the organisation. Professional development is integral to the u-blox culture and further development of your role and responsibilities is expected. There will be occasional travel to other u-blox sites.

The role can be located in our offices in Athens (GR) or in Tampere (FI). Please indicate in the application comment box, which is your preferred location.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design, development and implementation of key parts of our high-precision positioning products.
  • Integrate existing software components into products.
  • Tailor and modify software for specific applications.
  • Support documentation, testing and maintenance.
  • Analyze failures or nonconformities and provide workarounds and/or bug fixes.
  • Adhere to appropriate development guidelines and quality standards.
  • Help with development, maintenance and improvement of support software (tools, tests, etc.).

Your Skills and Experience
  • BSc or MSc in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong C programming language skills.
  • Familiarity with embedded software design.
  • Sound engineering and problem solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Bonus Points
  • Knowledge and experience in GNSS technology.
  • Software development experience in real-time operating systems and low-level hardware drivers.
  • Other programming and scripting languages, such as Python, Perl and C++.
  • Knowledge in software testing, test automation, continuous integration concepts.
  • Experience with project tracking and collaboration software, such as Jira.
  • Experience in agile software development processes.
  • Experience with integrated development environments (e.g. Visual Studio Code), revision control systems (e.g. Git) or build tool chains.
