As a fast-growing System Engineering team within Safety Critical Product organization, we are applying our best research and engineering capabilities to new products for which not only positioning performance, but also integrity and safety matters. Nowadays satellite-based positioning technology is widely accepted and integrated within many non-safety-critical tasks in mass-market applications, such as mobile phones and automotive infotainment, and also in some safety-critical tasks within dedicated limited-market applications especially in general aviation. We are pushing the technology further to meet high standards of safety-critical tasks within future automotive mass-market applications aiming to highly automated and autonomous driving.
 We are looking for experienced and passionate Senior Navigation Engineer Safety Critical System Engineering focusing on our Safe Position Engine. We assume you to be quick learner and enthusiastic about safety-critical systems. The role is located in Thalwil, Switzerland but may also be in Tampere/Espoo, Finland.

Your Responsibilities
  • Technical Responsibility of Safe Position Engine on a System Level
  • Planning and defining necessary Verification and Validation Strategies to ensure targeted performance and safety together with Verification and Validation experts
  • Providing System Architecture expertise to all development phases of safety-critical satellite (GNSS) and inertial-based (INS) positioning systems and mentoring teammates
  • Conducting feasibility and trade studies, and support analyses for various concerns such as safety, reliability, security, maintainability, testability, usability, vulnerability and others
  • Supporting system components integration, verification and validation activities
  • Ensuring that system design meets the automotive quality and functional safety standards (ISO-26262)
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the systems engineering processes and guidelines
Your Skills and Experience
  • Master’s or PhD degree in geodesy/geomatics, communication systems, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent education
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in GNSS Navigation, Sensor Fusion, RTK or similar
  • System modelling experience with SysML/UML/or similar
  • Knowledge in embedded software development (C/C++)
  • Team player with the ability to work independently within broader project teams and a can-do attitude
  • Able to travel to other EU u-blox sites and locations, especially during the ramp-up of the team competencies (naturally, considering COVID19 restrictions)
  • English: fluent both written and spoken

Bonus Point (if applicable, not mandatory)
  • AUTOSAR Adaptive Software Development
  • Systems Engineering or Requirements Engineering certification (e.g. IREB, INCOSE)
  • GNSS Integrity Background
  • Automotive Development expertise
  • Experience in Jira/Agile Work Management (as developer)
  • Experience with Requirement tools as Jama, PTC, Doors, etc.
  • ISO26262 Application experience
  • Experience on Analyzing Algorithms/Concepts according to ISO21448
  • Experience in test-driven design and continuous integration
  • Experience in working within a regulated industry
