As a Senior Manager Signal Processing at u-blox you are responsible for the heart of u-blox’s cutting edge positioning devices. With your experience and in-depth knowledge in the domain of GNSS signal processing you are the expert for developing the GNSS measurement block. You are familiar with signal acquisition, tracking and decoding algorithms for GNSS signals. Capitalizing on your profound skills in embedded C programming and proper validation you efficiently lead a team of motivated engineers to design and implement the signal processing algorithms into the firmware of our embedded GNSS real-time system. You feel responsible for testing, documentation, quality control and maintenance of the source code and you coordinate the support to our application engineers in debugging and providing workarounds of nonconformities. You are able to lead the draft of new technical concepts, evaluate their feasibility and derive specifications. As a part of our international multi-site team of specialized software developers you contribute to the next generation of u-blox’s innovative and competitive positioning systems.

The position can be located in Thalwil / Switzerland or Tampere / Finland.

Your Responsibilities
  • Leadership in the technical discipline of GNSS signal processing
  • Lead your team in the areas listed below along with your own contributions
  • Manage stakeholders such as internal development peers and customer contacts, as well as network with the relevant field in industry
  • Design, implementation and testing of satellite signal processing algorithms
  • Contribution to or technical leadership of research and development in the domain
  • Generating technical documentation
  • Verification and error analysis
  • Providing workarounds or fixes for bugs and nonconformities
Your Skills & Experience
  • PhD or MSc in electrical engineering or telecommunications engineering
  • Experience in management positions with personnel responsibility
  • Experience in agile software development
  • Expert knowledge and years of experience in GNSS and related technologies
    • Digital signal processing
    • Communication theory
    • Computer science algorithms and data structures
  • ​​​​​​​Knowledge in following areas:
    • ​​​​​​​Embedded software development
    • Verification and validation
  • Programming languages and tools:
    • ​​​​​​​C, C++, Perl, Python
    • Subversion, Git or other version control software
    • Matlab or Octave
  • Ability to work as a member of bigger projects. Flexible team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in English (oral and in writing)
  • Right to work in Switzerland or EU with international experience background​​​​​​​
